I tried these based on other reviews and I did non intendance for the sauce. I brand french dips only like this, only with beef broth. I call up the taste of the french onion soup spoiled it for me. Did non like the tart flavor of it. If yous want a good sauce employ two cans of beefiness broth, chopped onion, 1-2 tbsp. worchestershire and 1 tbsp. soy sauce. But add together all to a pot and bring to a boil. Serve.

Absolutely to die for! The first time, I followed the recipe exactly. The second time, I took a frozen beef roast (salted and peppered it) and put it in the crock pot in the morning, then by afternoon it was tender and perfectly done. This I sliced and returned to the crock pot to soak upward some of the drippings while I prepared the soup/worcestershire mix and split the French bread rolls I bought this fourth dimension from the bakery section at my local super Walmart. I used a slotted spoon to add the meat to the soup, but wasn't overly concerned with the drippings getting into the soup either. And so, after it was heated, I used metal tongs to add the meat to the rolls and spooned on the soup. A half slice of provolone fit perfectly on these smaller rolls; it was a perfect dinner portion size likewise! Served it with pasta salad and baked beans. So easy, delicious and much cheaper than buying cafeteria roast beefiness, and so I will exist making it this mode again and over again.

Enjoyed this recipe notwithstanding made a few tweaks and it was succulent. I used one tin can of French Onion Soup and a one-half of a can of Beef broth. I added one 1/2 tbsp of worcestershire sauce, i tbsp of A1, 1/ii tbsp of Soy Sauce, and a few dashes of pepper. I besides lightly buttered the rolls earlier calculation the beef and provolone cheese. VERY Skilful... volition definitely brand again!

First-class and so easy! Doubled the recipe-2 cans french onion, 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, and one-1/2 pounds roast beef. I added some fresh cracked black pepper to the soup mixture. Instead of pouring more juice over the sandwiches , I but served it in footling cups for dipping. These were so delicious and nosotros will utilise this often. What an like shooting fish in a barrel meal, yum!

This recipe worked. The beef was so moist and delicious. I follow the recipe exactly but with i alter. I toasted the subs get-go so they would not get smoggy. I also used Swiss cheese instead of provolone considering the store was out. Nevertheless turned out great. The ladies gave it a big thumbs upwardly.

Very yummy then piece of cake! I used whole wheat hamburger buns vs the hoagie rolls and information technology was corking also! I boiled the roast beef in the french onion soup/worcestershire sause philharmonic and so one time I placed the meat on the bun I added merely a small tblsp of soup/sause combo to the acme of the meat and then topped it off with the provolone. I don't care for actually soggy staff of life, so this was just enough for me. v min at 400 in the oven was plenty of time for toasting. And then great and easy! 10 min from starting time to finish. I will exist making this recipe often for sure.

My husband and I loved this! It was quick and easy to make. I cut up some boosted raw onions and sauteed them with a little olive oil and Worcestershire sauce and then I added the onion soup and simmered information technology for a little longer. Forth with some of the other reviews, I melted the cheese first and then topped information technology with my roastbeef and banana peppers.

Nosotros didn't exactly care for the flavor of the french onion soup for the sauce. Next fourth dimension I'll effort to substitute beef broth instead.

05/04/2011
I used 2 cans of french onion and one can of beefiness broth. I like to have extra dipping sauce to serve on the side and this gives just enough. I used more meat and then callled for. I cut my meat into seize with teeth size pieces, just so it would mix a trivial better. Very good and elementary meal.

5 stars for how easy it is...4 stars for it needs a little tweaking as it is a little tedious every bit is. We added pepper & a petty a1 to the gravy & it was much meliorate.

Equally a mom of three boys I'g always looking for good, easy recipes that are piece of cake to make before sports practices (every night!). This was a great meal, and for my 2 sons that won't eat the regular version, I simply kept some roast beef out to make plain melts. Perfect!
04/18/2012
I made this for my family unit. My dad said it was one of the best sandwiches he had. I added grounded peppercorn medley, a footling flake of depression sodium soy sauce, and some garlic pepper to the sauce. Another thing extra I did was I put the sauce on simmer and let it cook for with the meat in it for at least an 60 minutes. I as well at the cease sauteed onions, dark-green and red peppers to add to the sandwiches taste. Information technology was really good, and I plan on making it again soon.
03/07/2012
I had this sandwich at a cafeteria and they used black olives instead of peppers. So if you want something unlike try that. This is a neat hot sandwich and the cheese melted makes it even better!
11/07/2011
I used an entire pound of deli roast beef and then I decided to add i loving cup of beefiness broth to the french onion soup and Worcestershire sauce and it was wonderful! One of my son's turned his into a French dip past using the au jus for a sandwich dip. I didn't realize I was out of the jarred peppers so I sliced up a crimson bell pepper and a yellow onion and sauteed them in vegetable oil. It was fantastic!

Made as is for fellow, he loved it. I added mayo & spicy mustard on the gyre for mine, yum! My 11 y/o son didnt want the french onion soup (ew, onions!) then I made his "plain". He tried mine and said he would have it have his next time with the soup. Quick, easy, delicious and sooo practiced on a common cold afternoon.

Fabricated this last night and it was FABULOUS! The only thing I did differently was use ciabatta sandwich rolls (considering I couldn't notice hoagie rolls) and I served the juice on the side for dipping rather than cascade it on the sandwich! My whole family LOVED this! I doubled the recipe and there was nonetheless NO LEFTOVERS! GREAT recipe! :)
01/eighteen/2012
So i made this sandwich only i put the roast beef in a dish and added the onion soup and worchester sauce and threw information technology in the oven for a few min. and it was very good. I practice dearest this sandwich

Absolutely fabled! Used grass-fed beef cutlets sliced sparse and threw in some thinly sliced onion - topped with pepper jack - husband wanted to know if he could accept some for lunch tomorrow. - too, used French onion dip 'cause I had it on mitt - good way to become rid of extra dip later on a political party.
10/31/2011
This was so proficient! Our family tries to stay away from candy meats, so instead of using the deli meat I roasted a lean cut of beef and thinly sliced information technology. Even my picky kids ate it which is maxim a lot! Looks like this 1 is going to brand its way into our regular carte du jour rotation!

2 words.... Easy and Delicious! I'm a chicken kind a girl and would never order this in a restaurant but to please my husband and teenage son, gave it a attempt. It was a oversupply pleaser! Even my teenage dtr (also a chicken kind a girl) loved it. And over again, super piece of cake!
04/02/2012
i loved this. i didnt apply the worcestershire sauce or banana peppers, but added sauted onions with little garlic, salt and pepper instead. Then put information technology all in a soft deli sub roll, mmmmm so good. also i permit the meat and soup warm up in the crock pot. every step was worth it :)
06/14/2011
GREAT and Super easy!!! Winning combination!!!

Been using this for years, but got tired of the mushy veggies. I now cut upwards whatever veggies I take on hand, cutting them in serving pieces, add a teaspoon each of thyme, rosemary and oregano, mix well and add together olive oil to coat. Put them in the oven and partially cook and add to the roast in the crock pot the last hr. Really ups the season. Too use two cans of soup and throw in a packaged gravy. Yummy!
02/17/2015
Very skilful and piece of cake. Be sure to add the worstershire. I also spread spicy Dijon and mayo on bread and toasted the breadstuff in oven before calculation meat.
02/04/2017
Delicious! Instead of using the sesame seed rolls, I used the Pepperidge sweet and soft rolls. Truly makes a terrific repast.
10/21/2013
Loved this. Put my own spin on it since I'yard a lady full of flavor. I added in some garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and a nuance of garlic vinegar. I didn't bother with the peppers. I also used horseradish cheddar cheese. All of this equated to one excellent, easy meal!
10/30/2014
I used leftover pot roast washed in the crock pot (with enough of seasoned onions, garlic, celery & carrots a couple days before). I warmed the pan juices instead of soup and heated the shredded beef, then followed this recipe. Information technology was a definite hitting!
11/07/2012
Ok for some reason they don't sell condensed French onion soup in Quebec, and then I used a bag of powdered French onion soup, maybe 1/iv of the bag, mixed with ane tin of beef broth, and about one tin equivalent of water. Added the worcestershire and it was delicious! I did toast the breadstuff (with simply the cheese) before calculation the beef then that the bread wouldn't get too soggy and it was perfect! Thanks for this great recipe!
09/23/2012
This recipe is a perfect, quick weeknight meal. Information technology's delicious as written! My family unit enjoys it.
05/17/2016
i made this simply inverse a couple of things. Followed others who said to use beef goop, i used fifty percent less sodium. As well toasted the buns and cheese without the meat and so the sandwich wouldn't be soggy and the meat wouldn't dry out. Corking sandwiches, easy to make, and non expensive at all. Volition definitely brand once again.
xi/25/2014
Heating the beef in the French onion soup is the key. The beefiness stock really moistens upwards the roast very nicely. Crowd pleaser that is done and plated in 15 minutes.
06/05/2016
I added sauteed onions and bell peppers and of grade garlic. I've made it also with white cheddar and omg!! Yum. Thank you for recipe. New favorite and something dissimilar than just a French dip.
06/xxx/2017
YUM YUM YUM needed a quick filling hot meal. This is so proficient. Condolement food that is like shooting fish in a barrel and quick. Thanks for a neat recipe. Made according to recipe. Fabled
ten/25/2014
Absolutely yummie just like i call up having at pubs! The but affair i did diff was added the hot pepper rings to the sauce n meat while heating up northward it was wonderful! Volition b making it a lot!
10/25/2015
I estrus the meat & broth (save for dipping) in a microwave, don't toast the curlicue just rather steam them in a microwave bun warmer(My experience with toasted rolls is that when you bite down the ingredients like to ooze out!)Identify the beef onto a hot panini grill or flat top/frying pan on tin foil (no mess), place on cheese and encompass and so gather, savor!
03/26/2014
If you like French onion soup I'one thousand sure you'd love this recipe. It's a peachy quick recipe but if yous are not a big fan of the soup and so I'd tweak it a little. We are for certain making this once again but using beef broth instead as others suggested.
03/nineteen/2014
I used Boars Head rare roast beef, as I similar the beefiness rare to med rare. The beefiness cooked too quickly across my liking when I put in the au jus. If you lot similar the beef more rare (much more tender for these sandwiches) only leave information technology in long enough to heat. Really, it would heat enough in the oven - skip putting information technology in the pan with the au jus.
09/26/2016
I've made this twice and it was a large hit with the family each time.
04/07/2019
